The definition of discrimination under the Sex Discrimination Ordinance (SDO) (Cap. 480) in relation to discrimination against women remains unchanged.
The Central Government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has entered seven reservations and declarations on behalf of the HKSAR in respect of the provisions of the Convention as applied to the latter in the light of the special circumstances in Hong Kong. The Government has reviewed the need of the continued applicability of the relevant reservations and declarations. We remain of the view that the seven reservations and declarations should not be withdrawn. Justifications for their continuation are elaborated under the relevant Articles.
